By Renaldus Iwan Sumarta / Sep 24, 2025
Participants of the 10,000-meter race lined up at the starting line of Limbang Tacik Ta’a 2025.

[Labuan Bajo - September 20, 2025] Limbang Tacik Ta’a (@limbangtacik) returns in 2025 with fiery enthusiasm, once again captivating open-water swimming enthusiasts. Held in the tropical paradise of Labuan Bajo, this second edition of the festival successfully blends competitive adrenaline with natural beauty—proving that sports events can also be a celebration of Indonesia’s tourism gems.

Hosted at Ta’aktana, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa owned by PT Fortuna Paradiso Optima (FPO), the event drew swimmers from across the globe—including the UK, Netherlands, Russia, Japan, and Australia. They came not only to compete, but also to experience the breathtaking and challenging swim route stretching from Wae Rana Beach to Bidadari Island.

Renaldus Iwan Sumarta, founder of Limbang Tacik Ta’a and CEO of Fortuna Paradiso Optima, expressed his pride in the success of this year’s event. “We’re deeply grateful for the support from all parties and the incredible enthusiasm from participants. For us, Limbang Tacik Ta’a is more than just a competition—it’s a movement to celebrate the ocean as a space of life, a place to reconnect with nature and find peace in Labuan Bajo,” he said

The 10,000-meter race route stretches from Wae Rana Beach to Bidadari Island.

This year introduced a new challenge: the 10,000-meter category. In the main event, Elisei Stepanov from Russia set a record time of 02:17:21, narrowly edging out two talented young athletes—Mohammad Akbar Putra Taufik and Semenov Denis. In the women’s category, Adinda Larasati Dewi Kirana, the top medalist at PON Papua 2021, showcased her prowess with an impressive finish of 02:35:34.

The 5,000-meter category featured fierce duels among open-water swimming enthusiasts. Alexander Taraskin and Bianca Marcon dominated the men’s and women’s 30–39 age groups respectively. Meanwhile, Colin Wilbhy stole the spotlight as the sole participant in the 60+ category, completing the race with a remarkable time of 01:58:41.

In the 2,000-meter category, young athletes shone brightly. Satria Chandra and Fiorenza Elysia Ngera emerged as junior champions in the 14–19 age group, clocking the fastest times in their category—affirming that the future of Indonesian swimming is bright, full of potential, and ready to shine on the global stage.

Elisei, the 10,000-meter winner, shared his positive impression of this year’s Limbang Tacik Ta’a: “The event was excellently organized. I hope it continues annually. I’ll definitely return next year and promote it to my friends and team—especially fellow triathlon and open-water swimming enthusiasts,” he said.

Sunset Sprint Race participants swam across Maiga! Bar and Sea Villas Ta’aktana.

The event concluded with a surprise Sunset Sprint Race held at the Ta’aktana Jetty, followed by a traditional Caci Dance performance and a winner’s ceremony at the Ta’aktana Amphitheater along Wae Rana Beach.

Race Director Omar Suryaatmadja noted that the event’s success was made possible through the support of various parties—including Ta’aktana Labuan Bajo as the main sponsors—and the tight security provided by Lanal, KSOP, KKP, Basarnas, and Polairud. Thanks to solid collaboration, all participants completed the race safely, and the entire event ran smoothly.

Omar added that Limbang Tacik Ta’a will continue to grow as an annual event that elevates Labuan Bajo’s ocean as a premier sports tourism destination. “We want the sea to become a stage for achievement and unforgettable experiences. Ocean, culture, and competitive spirit come together in one narrative: Dilaokku Kallumangku – My Ocean, My Life,” he concluded.
